Recognized and growing Property and Casualty Insurance carrier is seeking a senior underwriter for their Northeast operations. 

Candidates will be responsible for the underwriting and marketing of Excess Property accounts in the Northeast.  You will be able to work out of a variety of company offices in the MA, CT, NY, NJ or PA areas.  This is a production oriented position with strong agency development and territory management skills.

Qualifications:

• Minimum requirement of 5+ years of commercial lines underwriting experience
• Experience with underwriting commercial property lines of business
• E&S Property experience required
• Experience with bankruptcy, debtors in possession or forced placed property is desirable
• Heavy E&S experience with some exposure to Admitted property desirable
• Experience with Vacant Buildings, Non-Standard Property risks including unprotected, high hazard classes of business ranging from warehousing to manufacturing
• Experience with non-standard policy wording and ability to draft tight policy language desirable
• Experience with ISO Property coverage forms required, experience with manuscript policy forms
• Experience with non-standard deductible structures such as annual aggregate retentions
• Experience with wholesalers required, additional experience with regional retailers desirable
• Experience with scheduled, loss limit, primary, quota share and excess placements required
• Experience with DIC and understanding RMS modeling results desirable
• Experience with procuring facultative reinsurance required
• Experience with handling small accounts $5,000 in premium to large accounts in excess of $250,000
