Growing middle market Property and Casualty Insurance company is seeking a Vice President of Worker's Compensation Underwriting. The Workers' Compensation VP of Underwriting is responsible for the revenue growth, profitability and competitiveness of this product line across the corporation. This book is projected to grow significantly in the near future via organic and possible acquisitional growth.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Overall WC management to ensure that the Company business model and application of guidelines and business practices are supported
- Direct responsibility for meeting WC business revenue and profitability objectives
- Review & approval of all exceptions to underwriting standards
- Provide WC technical support to underwriting line management and underwriters
- Handle complex WC submissions that are beyond the skill level of the underwriting team
- Audit and report on new, renewal business, pricing and large losses etc.
- Develop and implement WC guidelines, and controls and take needed corrective action
- Conduct WC and market research
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in a senior underwriting management role with a strength in Work Comp
- Significant WC LOB executive experience with a national P&C insurance carrier
- Experience with state expansion planning and implementation
- Proven leadership skills
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
