This position underwrites and analyzes new and renewal Surplus and E&S Casualty for General Liability and Umbrella lines of business.

This is a regional position with a dynamic territory. You would work with territorial wholesalers and must have strong communication and marketing skills. The duties will be dedicated to external marketing responsibilities and relationship management. Due to the complex and dynamic classes of business, the candidate would need a skill set of being creative, innovative and solution-oriented. You would work within broad limits and authority on highly complex assignments. Marketing responsibility is in a large diverse territory in the Southern California area. Due to the dynamics of this regional office, the senior underwriter for this position will provide technical guidance, assistance, and training to lower level associates.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of Casualty Commercial GL experience with large Middle Market to Large Accounts experience
• Must have a CA Casualty Surplus Broker License (or, obtain one within 90 days)
• Experience with deductible/SIR plans and ability to manuscript coverage
• Proven wholesale broker relationships
