Financially strong insurance carrier is currently looking to add a Senior Underwriter to their Environmental Division.

Individual must have middle market to large accounts casualty underwriting experience, preferably within the Environmental Sector. Individual will be responsible for managing a current book of business while maintaining current relationships and building new ones within the territory. Individual will be responsible for their own book of business.

Additional responsibilities listed below:

• Provides expert consultation and guidance to the field underwriters.
• Develops, administers and monitors complex underwriting rules and guidelines.
• Participates in the development of business strategies and market opportunity assessments.
• Recommends and leads product development efforts for Casualty Environmental and works with other persons responsible for other lines of business
• Leads and participates on project and key initiative teams affecting the Environmental strategic business unit.
• Conducts and participates in underwriting technical reviews / audits.
• Reviews and develops policy language, including review of manuscript forms.
• Works with Actuaries to develop pricing tools for General Liability and Umbrella.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 7 years experience in the underwriting of commercial casualty insurance on the carrier side
• A minimum of 2 years experience underwriting environmental coverages
• Strong technical underwriting skills in commercial general liability and umbrellas.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Products
