Our client is part of a publicly traded company and an insurance carrier with a focus on specialty commercial products for businesses. We are currently searching for a Commercial Casualty Excess Underwriter in the Atlanta office. The territory will include the South Eastern portion of the United States. As a Commercial Excess Underwriter, you will be responsible for soliciting, underwriting and pricing new and renewal accounts for our clients' agents and brokers within the assigned territory.

Responsibilities:

• Analyzing financial and risk data of proposed insured's to identify hazards and exposures.
• Determines appropriate recommendations subject to the management and underwriting guidelines.
• Develops working relationships with assigned agencies within the assigned territory
• Ensures the delivery, follow-up and servicing requirements of all quotes on new and renewal accounts.
• Develops retail agency relationships within the Atlanta market.
• Provides detailed instructions for administrative staff to process policies and statistical information.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of solid umbrella-related underwriting
• 2-3 years of strong standard lines general liability underwriting
• Bachelor's Degree
• Thorough knowledge of accounting, finance and economic principles
• Excellent communication skills
