SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF CLAIMS - New England

Our client is a Regional Commercial Lines Property and Casualty Insurance Company, home based in New England. They are rated A plus, and offer a great work/life balance.

The position will report to the CEO. This position is responsible for providing strategic direction for claims and legal services and will be involved in planning and executing strategic plans for future growth. Other responsibilities include management of claims, legal services and government relations. He or she will oversee counsel who has responsibility for compliance with case law, statutes and regulations. The incumbent will monitor organizational performance to achieve continuous improvement and competitive advantage, coaching and mentoring of staff for succession at all levels of management, and developing and maintaining relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of fifteen years of related claims and claims training experience in the Property and Casualty insurance industry.
  • Advanced training in property-casualty insurance (e.g. AIC, CPCU, or SCLA designations), as well as a Juris Doctor degree is desired.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in the management  commercial claims insurance, government or other regulatory entities.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state and local laws, and the ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations
  • Strong leadership and communications skills.
  • Travel is required.
